Steph Currys impact on the 2021 Warriors

Image
As you may have noticed Warriors star player Stephen Curry is having yet another great season currently launching 29.7 points, 6.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds on 64.6% TS. Outside from his outrageous numbers Curry not only is showing how impactful he is to Golden State but showing why he just might be the best offensive player in entire league... Curry is having an historic offensive season and majority of his damage comes from that end. Per 75 possessions he is averaging over 30 points and is also leading all guards in TS%. With the defensive attention Curry gets his teammates such as Andrew Wiggins get to play more freely. As an example last season when Curry was out Andrew Wiggins got 47% of his shots open and yet that number has rose to 54% this year. (At the time of this writing) when Curry is on the Court Andrew Wiggins has a TS% of 56.9% which is about league average. However in the 600 minutes Wiggins has played without Curry on the floor this season Wiggins has a TS% of just ...

How good was Jordan's finals competition?

Image
We hear it time and time again...the claim tends to be that Michael Jordan played weak finals competition or what some people refer to as "plumbers" and ''mailmen". Although of the criticisms in the world this one falls far from reality... 1991: In the 1991 NBA season everyone shaped  Michael Jordan   to be the best in league. However Magic Johnson didn't trail to far behind. Some might perceive Johnson as washed by 1991 but he was still good for a near 20 point double double as well as 7 rebounds. This production from Johnson led him to make the all NBA 1st team while almost winning his 4th MVP award.  The Trail Blazers were expected to win the NBA title in this season. They would lead all teams in wins with 63. Although they were sent home by the Lakers in a short 6 game series . Further showing the dominance of Magics Lakers . Magic stood by hall of famer James Worthy who was an all star and who got on to an all NBA team. Overall the lakers were a 5...

Jordan vs LeBron defensively?

Image
There seems to be an on going topic right now about Michael Jordan vs LeBron...however unlike usual this debate is about the abilities on the defensive end and not as overall basketball players. Defensive has always been a very important aspect of the sport so you'll be glad to know that Michael Jordan is the player that is truly the better defender in this scenario.  To prove it let's begin with their defensive longevity. LeBron just turned 36 and his defense is quite questionable at times. LeBron made his last all defensive team 7 years ago at the age of 29. However Jordan played at an all defensive level for the course of 9 years, making 1st team for all those as well. Even at age 35 Jordan was named to an all defensive 1st team. However it didn't stop there because believe it or not Jordan's defensive impact followed him even into his Wizards days.  In 2001 the year before the Wizards would pick up Jordan they were the 28th best defensive team in the league (of 29...

Mavericks vs Portland game review

Image
On a Sunday night special the Blazers matchup with the Dallas Mavericks went down to the wire but ended up a being a 121-118 win for Portland. Giving the Blazers a 4 game winning streak and a 16-10 record. Damian Lillard set the tone with 34 points and 11 assists in 36 minutes of play time. Although the highlight of the game happened with just over 30 seconds on the clock when Lillard waited until seconds remained to hit a classic one two step back 3 pointer that sank the hearts of everyone of the Mavericks roster.  "We played the kind of game we played against what we've been up against through the game. It's rewarding in the end." Said Lillard after the matchup However with 6.9 seconds left of play time Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle had time to draw up one last play for his star Luka Doncic. In an attempt to push Lillard and the Blazers to overtime Luka came off a screen and had an open look at the basket with the shot going in and out. Moving the Mavericks t...

A lie told about Steph Curry...

Image
Heading into the past 2 NBA seasons fans wanted Steph Curry to "prove himself." What they mean by this is that they wanted to see if Curry could lead an average roster to a good record and a good season. While being well unaware of the fact that Curry has already been able to accomplish this feat a couple of years before his MVP season. So you'll be glad to know that Curry in the 2 seasons before 2015 was able to lead 2 average roster to 47 and 51 win seasons.  All that's really needed to do here is date back to the 2 previous seasons and you can see examples of Steph Curry leading average rosters to the NBA playoffs and a good record. In fact I would as far as to say that those Warrior teams over achieved. In 2013 many fans and analyst didn't believe that the Warriors were a playoff team. Despite the misbelief Curry led Golden State to 47 wins which was good enough for the 6th in the Western Conference.  Curry had statistical outputs of 22.9 points per game, 6....

How many points would Jordan average in todays era....

Image
How many points would Michael Jordan average if he were a player in the modern NBA? 30? 35? Could he even acclude even 40? Considering this is a hypothetical there's no true right answer. However, many people who we refer to as "old heads" say a prime  Michael Jordan  would average 40 points in the Modern era. But why do they think this? Is it just because they're big fans or is a prime Michael Jordan really capable of averaging 40 points in this era...well that's take a statical approach and try to come to a conclusion...  To understand the following text one thing that is worthy of a mention is that  Michael Jordan  is the greatest scorer the NBA has ever laid their eyes on. Establishing Jordan as the greatest scorer should be as nice starting point as nobody in the history of this sport could match his dominance in that aspect of basketball wether were looking at eye test or on the stat sheet. Michael has the highest regular season PPG average ever ...

The WORST criticism of Kobe Bryant's career....

Image
Why Kobe WAS NOT carried by Shaq Let's face it the Shaq and Kobe duo is probably the most interesting duo to look at in NBA history because of the relationship they shared. They had a player in Shaq were nobody could physically match him and on the other hand they had Kobe who was determine to win no matter the cost. The success these two had while wearing the same uniform is something that hasn't been matched since. 99% of NBA fans all agree that Shaq was the better in this 2 man duo and that much i can stand by. However the problem i've noticed is  people tend to fall into this narrative that Shaq  carried Kobe because Shaq was  the one holding up the FMVPs for the 3 championships. Bare with me because i will enclose how bombared this argument honestly is. But before we go...
